Today, we celebrate my son turning 7 years old. 💙🎉
From the moment he came into my life, I knew God had trusted me with something special. Watching him grow over these seven years especially through his autism journey has changed me in ways I can’t fully explain. He’s taught me how to slow down, listen differently, and love deeper.
One of my favorite things about him is how he lights up over shiny things or anything that sparkles (especially jewelry 😊). I like to think of that as one of his special superpowers… he sees beauty and joy in places others might miss. ✨
As his father, I made the decision to step away from constantly traveling and being on the road so I could be more present and grounded for him. To support him, advocate for him, and make sure he has everything he needs to thrive. That choice, without a doubt, has been the best decision I’ve ever made. He is my purpose.
This journey hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth every moment. Watching his growth and his victories big and small, fills my heart in a way nothing else can. I see God working in him every day, and I know He doesn’t make mistakes. He is exactly who he’s meant to be.
I want to encourage and remind any parent walking a similar path that you’re not alone. Some days are hard, but don’t give up. Keep showing up, keep loving your child. The growth will come, and it will all be worth it.
And to my son, Daddy is so proud of you. Thank you for teaching me a love that’s real and unconditional.
