What an incredible experience I’m so blessed to have these memories with the best group of guys one could ask for. Big thanks to @dbrowne789 for the invite. Permit #1 in the books! The fishing, which was amazing, is only a small part of what made this trip the best I’ve ever been on. Been a pretty wild week out here in donkeyville, safe to say these fish are real happy it’s spring. Number 3 is the first dry fly fish of the year!! Congrats @lucabraz and @_return_of_the_matt_ on your 2 footers. Winter fishing is in full effect… Hunting these amazing creatures requires battling the elements and keeping hopes high but it is incredibly rewarding when everything lines up. This is probably the best time of year to get on a real big one and its only going to get better over the next few months.On this particular day we put the boat in with floater ice everywhere and an air temp of 14 degrees. If your willing to put up with the cold weather it can pay off big time. We’re blessed here in western mass to have a true year round trout fishery. Not only can you catch fish in the dead of winter but the fishing can be fantastic. The biggest browns of the year tend to be caught between January and April, come out and capitalize on the empty rivers and large trout.We’re currently running float trips on the upper deerfield which have been producing good numbers of rainbows as well as healthy wild browns.
