my dad says, coaching me intently on the minigolf course. At four years old I take all my might and WHACK the ball as hard as I can.
“Aw Mel you killed it!” He says in playful anguish.
We follow the ball…HOLE IN ONE.
This series of popular expressions— challenged— is an ode to the question “what could happen if I only took my own advice?”
, plus an homage to my dad’s constant support of me since forever, even when I would do the opposite of what he suggested.
