TO Collage or NOT to Collage!!! The classic question.. posed by millions throughout the history of mankind. What a conundrum… when someone on reels says…. “Collages don’t make themselves… grab a scissors” WHAT is your next move???? Is the answer to comment “that’s a knife not a scissors?” Because if so you have gravely missed the point! Look… most people don’t have an xacto knife with fresh blades handy.. and I know that.. plus that’s kinda confusing.. anyways… the real point here is to maybe get you to start to cut up our recent pictorial Okay enough horsin around.. you may have noticed I never showed myself adding the rainbow shadow.. cause I forgot. But it looks great doesn’t it! Shadows aren’t just for little people and trees.. we can now add rainbows to the list. Okay hope you enjoy this addition into the sanctuary collages.. I’m picking up a hefty supply of LIFE magazines in a few days which is great cause I’m really wanting some more mags Okay cya hope you’re well!

Are YOU enjoying springtime!?!? Well I am! I am lucky enough to not be riddled with seasonal allergies.. but don’t rush to shun me for my lack of sniffles. Because I am… allergic to dogs and cats… and I love them… even owning one (questionable decision on my part) So for every sniffle I forego in the spring hundreds flood my way all year round! Wooo! Balance! Anyways.. when I was like 7 my parents took me horseback riding (cute) and when we were like pretty far out (I don’t fully remember the details I was 7) I had one of the most severe asthma attacks of my life (allergy related)[theyre evil cousins] I woke up in the hospital! (Again.. I think I was 7) anyways… I could never be a horsegirl! Anyways again.. I hope you like this collage! I got all the new prints today! Jus gotta sign all of them (arduous) & then you can buy the galore Okay cya!

WELL I simply can’t help but make a floral collage.. cause I am finally smelling the roses!!! Not actually there are no roses budding where I’m at… BUT I am smelling the blossoms & getting the sniffles!! Oddly enough.. I had a moment the other day where I yearned for the cold harsh winter weather. Like I hadn’t had my fix of type 3 outdoor frigid fun for the year. Confusing I know.. but I genuinely love getting my cold weather gear on & not knowing if the adventure is gonna be awful or wonderful This collage might be a micro manifestation of that moment.. maybe.. but who really knows. Okay I know that this probably is my… well.. most complicated “not” complicated collage. And yes that’s a perfect sentence & I will not be rewording it. But to be fair, this is 5 pieces of paper! That’s not too complicated right? I used the black background of the sand hill sample to make the shadows for the tiny people. An old road I’ve used to keep realistic shape for the walkway. Maybe I’m spending too much energy justifying the simplicity of it… maybe it’s not THAT simple. Welp Anyways. It’s almost that time of year! Summer! And nothing screams summer more than this specific collage! I can’t wait to spend a hot summer night engaging in the exact activity displayed in this collage😍😍 I’m a little extra tired typing this particular caption out lmao.. I hope you like this collage. I ordered a healthy new batch of prints. I’ll make some bundles & maybe try out some bigger sizes.. the curse of loving source material from 60 years ago is that it’s.. well not high quality & doesn’t particularly love scaling up. This one one of those collages where the process was just too trial & error to get concisely in a video. To be honest, I’m surprised more of them aren’t more convoluted when it comes to editing it down into a quick process. I cut out like 5 different tiny people, a bunch of different horizons layers, switch backgrounds, & reorganized the piece over & over. Which was a blast I won’t lie. I love these “wonderland” pieces.. a lot of pastel, illustrated elements, vibrant samples creating a little oasis. I’m trying to keep adding more to this motif & nail in the style as best as I can. I honestly need to hit the vintage magazine store (doesn’t exist)[im gonna go to antique stores and browse facebook marketplace] cause i need more 11/10 foregrounds. Anyways.. I hope you like this piece. I hope it’s warm where you are.. & if it’s not warm… I hope it’s pretty…. And if it’s not pretty…… well…. I hope you like this piece Alright cya!

I’VE come to a realization.. when I’m cutting out someone’s hands, face, outfit.. anything really, I need to be respecting their style. So I took extra care with this persons nails. I remember many years ago when I was xacto cutting on a cork board (don’t do that) [buy a self healing mat] I accidentally cut too abrasively and lost the head of a lovely sample. What a tragic thing to do to someone. What does someone who was photographed 70 years ago think about being used in a collage? What does that same person think about failing to make it into a collage cause a collage artist couldn’t make a smooth cut.. a lot to consider. I know. The weight of the world is on us collage artists (no it’s not) Anyways.. I’m using my favorite eclipse here to illustrate a bit of tenderness. I’m pretty sure this is a bit of a grief collage. I’ve used that eclipse so many times I feel like I know it personally. Lol. Hope you’re well, hope you’re having a nice spring

It’s SPRING.. and what better way to represent spring than making a collage about a little person stranded in the desert but it’s snowing? Perfect. A collage of both seasons.. that’s what spring is after all.. right? Yes. I know we’ve all been there. And by been there I literally mean in this exact situation Anyways.. I usually like to kick off spring with a nice pressed flower collage… but I simply wasn’t feeling the flowers today! They weren’t “agreeing” with me… which is sad. Maybe it’s cause that dirty rodent punxsusatawny Phil said there would 6 more weeks of winter.. and look.. I wouldn’t have such harsh words for him.. but I yearn for the flowers! Okay cya! Sorry about what I said about pux! Don’t get mad at me for what I said about pux! Take it up with the council of old guys that handles him!
