Yes you read it right 2 WIDOWS, it’s crazy🙃 but we’re doing the best we can with what we have, love! My husband and my dad wouldn’t want us stuck, and it’s crazy that I’m helping my mom through this process BUT GOD!! They would encourage us to live! My dad always questioned my happiness after Jaughn passed and even though I’m not there yet, I’m pressing towards the mark; making cautious decisions to walk well.

It was different without dad. He planned everything every year, so making reservations/gifts/plans was passed down to me. So glad my sister, niece and I were able to keep a smile on mom’s face. Joy is a promise and God keeps His promises. Grateful for the fruit of the spirit that speaks on our behalf. Love is the glue that holds us together. Can’t let the enemy take my mind “there.” Ngl, I genuinely miss Jaughn we did everything together — it’s those small things that at one point in time, were big things for me. Getting married I just looked forward to certain life events…can you blame me? My parents and his parents were married for over 40 years; it definitely gave us something to look forward to. I’ve filed taxes as a single woman but never in my mind did I think I’d have to file married without the person I’m married to being present. Like I asked a few times, how does that work? Cause what? 😅

My husband said, “The greatest grace is found in gratefulness.” Another situation where God is “meeting me where I am.” I have so many reasons to praise and be thankful. I won’t over-spiritualize this by saying, “God is my husband,” but what I will say is even though my husband left me he did not forsake me — God is my rock. God met me where I was. Thank God for wise counsel. Tragedy and pain happens to us all but what’s important is how you steward it. Grateful for the prayers of the saints, the enemy tried to take my mind but most importantly he tried to cause me to question my faith. I still believe, God is still a healer and community is very important. I hope this helps someone to know that it’s okay to grieve different, it doesn’t make you less saved or less strong.
