Happy Belated VE Day and Victory Day!

WW2 was heavily on my mind during Bicycle Day last month and on World Mime Day in March. It is very difficult to find the right words to convey my thoughts or to know to whom or where I should share those thoughts. WW2 and the holocaust were in the forefront of my mind at many points throughout both holidays both this year and last year so I wanted to mention it somewhere.
The discovery of LSD by Albert Hofmann happened simultaneously while massive numbers of people were being killed in concentration camps in neighboring countries. Marcel Marceau who inspired Mimestock and World Mime Day was directly involved in the war and saving others from persecution, he lost his father to Nazis and easily could have lost his own life but he put himself in danger to help others. I think it is good to reflect on
I don’t usually use modern military footage or anything after the 1950s for visuals because of moral ambiguity and I avoid any actual combat footage regardless of the conflict but seeing WW2 era weaponry or vehicles such as planes or Sherman tanks and what not always brings to mind fighting against Nazis or oppression for me

This is our groups second annual Bicycle Day celebration!

Mimestock 2026
March 20th - 23rd
Mimestock is a VR music festival and twitch stream event organized as a charity stream for the UNRWA‚ the United Nations Palestine relief non profit and PCRF, the Palestine Children’s Relief fund․
This event was put together in honor of the work of the mime Marcel Marceau during his time with the French Resistance during WWII․ Marcel and his family helped Jewish children escape genocide
The UNRWA supports Palestinian refugees with food‚ medical and housing aid‚ schooling for children and other humanitarian needs․ They have been one of the largest health service providers and humanitarian aid supporters in the Gaza strip since the beginning of the war․ The UNRWA has existed and worked to help Palestinian refugees since 1950‚ shortly after the Nakba in 1948․
PCRF provides various humanitarian services mainly focused in medical aid. They established the only public pediatric cancer center in Palestine and are working to construct another.
There is no pressure to donate but we are suggesting a ＄1 donation to the UNRWA, PCRF, or another charity of your choosing if you enjoy Mimestock or other PsychedelicsVR events․
