These amazing humans have been my greatest refuge these past few months. I have shed many tears — and yet, what a relief it has been to let the sorrow show without hiding it, all while being held in the warmth of their joy. The tears I shed yesterday have become rain
Br. Nhất Nguyên shared his new song with me recently. The moment I heard the lyrics, it felt like my father’s voice reminding me. 🤍
In the wake of that feeling, I wrote a letter to my Dad on the 49th day after his transition. I asked my younger dharma brother if I could layer spoken words over his melody, and he said yes.
This is the result. Raw and present.
Sending love to everyone currently in the middle of their own healing and grief. Take a moment to just be.
Listen with headphones. I hope the melody and words brings you home to your breath.
An honor to have had the chance to walk again through these sacred paths of the Buddha and the Sangha with my mom and the Plum Village crew. Past and present flowed through every step, every prostration, every sit, and every smile.
Grateful to the young prince Siddhartha for having embarked on a journey to understand suffering and offer a path for all of us to walk with our own steps.
Today, the first of our 6-episode series, recorded during our pilgrimage across India, In the Footsteps of the Buddha” is now available to listen to. I hope you enjoy the photos and the journey through listening.
