A flip book I made with frames from a video I took at the jazz club on a trip back in May. For this flip through I tried getting as close to the original playtime of 10 seconds.

“Sleep Inside a Former Printing House”, a booklet on the experience of making a book. It was created during the wonderful Monotype training that @typacentre organised, where 14 of us gathered to learn about the Monotype machine, letterpress and bookmaking. This booklet was made all within the last 3-4 days of the project - writing it, setting on the Monotype, casting, printing and binding, with a lot of proofing and petting the museum cat Ruby in between. The experience, the knowledge and the clacking of the Monotype are all now unforgettable memories.

“70s Baroque”, a small zine, that turned into a maze of possible flaps and secret pages. The main collage materials are some vivid 70s Finnish interior design magazines and Rembrandt paintings, that went surprisingly well together. It was a lot of fun to come up with it, and I always find it entertaining to flip through it.
Created at a scrapbook zine-making workshop in @typacentre , while I was there on a wonderful Monotype training.

Photo book as a contact sheet of my images from a trip to Lisbon, Portugal in June 2024.
Created as a play of values and colours. The transparent pages, containing the original colours, became almost Impressionistic, and I wished to overlay this painterliness on the black and white photos.

“Have You Travelled Before 2001? Or Before 1989?” is a collection of 7 personal stories of Bulgarians who travelled, or attempted to, before the EU lifted its visa requirements and before the Iron Curtain fell, respectively.
My canvas was an old communist-era passport, and I used its pages as a diary of the process of exiting the country, along with the mock visas I printed.
What inspired me was the borderless travel I’ve experienced in Europe, as Bulgaria joined the EU in 2007, and the Schengen area in 2025. The people who volunteered to share their stories have thus witnessed borders close and open - all within only one lifetime.

“Diamond Dust”, a photo book. It was inspired by the very same natural phenomenon, when tiny ice crystals float in ground-level clouds in freezing weather. A very fairytale-like sight!
The photos are from January 2024 in Tartu, Estonia, when temperatures were hovering around -25*C.
The plasma-cut metal pages serve as both illustrations, and as keepers of the cold - when presenting in person, I would refrigerate the book beforehand to keep it chill.

“A Conversation with Jonathan Cape”
I stumbled upon an old edition, possibly from the end of the 30s, of Joyce’s “A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man” with a peculiar mascot of the publisher. Jonathan Cape was a London publishing firm founded by a man with the same name, and is today part of Penguin. What was lost in time was the obscure hunched over man, which inspired me to carve this print.
I produced a number of prints, some of which were printed on press, other by hand, with varying degrees of success, but 4 stood out.

Plovdiv’s main street, the corner of Town Gallery - a favourite spot to paint.
It was my third time painting this scene and I’m always happy to revisit. One detail I wanted to emphasise was the portrait on the wall of the gallery, falling just off the centre of composition.

“Дръзки” str./“Напий се сам”, Varna.
I enjoyed painting this street once again (first was in 2021) due to its vibrancy and breezy atmosphere. It’s a sweet experience to paint while competing with the ever-changing shade of the golden hour.
