"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." 🌿 So… It finally happened. I’ve met Sir Ian McKellen. I’ve met my favorite actor and one of the most important persons to me. As I walked in literally shaking, he took a moment to look at my Gandalf cosplay and greeted me with a « you look magnificent » that will forever stick with me. Kneeling by his sides, he took my hands and looked in my eyes to listen to me, and I’ve finally had the chance to tell him how important he was to me and how his role as Gandalf profoundly changed and saved my life. He patted my hand and thanked me saying how sweet and lovely it was to hear that. My heart was racing as I was exploding with emotions, trying to hold back the tears of joy at least for the picture. I thanked him for everything and that unique moment, taking everything in as we looked at each other. As soon as I walked out, I bursted into tears, looking at my bestfriend trying to process what just happened. I was holding the picture in absolute disbelief cause never in my life I’ve even dared to dream about such a beautiful opportunity. He shaped my childhood as Magneto, then my young adult life as Gandalf, and a huge part of my life just by being him, such a brillant actor and beautiful soul. His presence on the screen did so much for me in dark times. And there I was, kneeling by his side in a Gandalf cosplay, at a LOTR reunion in London with my bestfriend. This was one of the greatest moments of my life, and I know that only a very few things will ever top that, which I’m immensely grateful for. Writting those words and remembering it all still feels like a dream. "From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven’t thought of you." After two decades of loving him, I’ve finally met my childhood hero. I cannot express how much this moment meant to me. Star Wars has always been my whole life, and Anakin/Vader my all time favorite character ever since I was a kid. I got to the autograph booth before the photo, and as I was telling Hayden how Anakin, his performance and his deep love for the character changed, shaped and saved my life, he took my hand, staring at me with a huge smile, thanking me and saying how sweet it was; let me tell you that I’ve never been more happy (and nervously shaking). I showed him my Vader tattoo (I had to…), and he loooved it. His reaction was adorable, and now I get to spend the rest of my life looking at my right arm knowing that Anakin himself has seen and loved my tattoo hehe… He signed the Darth Vader helmet that we’ve had for the past 15 years with my little brother, which meant a lot. Later that day, as I went in for the photo op, he immediately recognized me from the autograph and said "it’s so sweet to see you again!" as he hugged me tightly for the pic, and just before I left as well. I don’t think you’ll ever see me as happy as I am on this pic. I bursted into tears as I was holding the photo right after the meet, realizing that it finally happened. "Come to Freddy!" 🔪 The man, the nightmare, the legend. 🩸 Got the chance to meet Robert Englund on Saturday, and it was a dream (or should I say… nightmare…) come true. Freddy Krueger has obviously always been one of my favorite horror icons, and Englund such a huge inspiration for me. He’s a real sweetheart and complimented my Freddy cosplay while taking the picture, I was over the moon. Never thought I would be able to meet such an important and talented figure of the horror genre. I also had the opportunity to ask him what his favorite kills in the franchise were during his panel yesterday, and he seemed to be thrilled about my question, so that’s a win. May the 4th be with you 🪐 I feel like y’all probably know what Star Wars means to me by now, but today is the day to be extra thankful to my parents for raising me with those movies that shaped me. Star Wars taught me to be hopeful, to fight for what’s right, to pick myself up again and finding my path, to take care of my loved ones, and to always have fun with lightsabers. It’s always been there, from watching the OG trilogy as a little kid, to meeting my childhood hero in my Anakin cosplay last year. I’ve met two of my best friends thanks to this saga, my Obi-Wan and my Ahsoka. Went to the Star Wars Celebration in 2023 with them. Went to May the 4th at Disneyland multiple times. Dressed up as my favorite characters at conventions. Rewatched over and over again my favorite movies and episodes with my family and dear friends. Got my favorite character tattooed on my right arm (others will be added). And most importantly: it made me the most insufferable person when it comes to Harrison Ford and Han Solo.
