Impermanent and beautiful are the cherry blossoms we celebrate every spring.
Rooted in our motherland, branches form through migration, generation after generation.
The first blooms are always the hardest, exposed without cover.
To blend seamlessly until access to words that once felt familiar is torn away, and we stumble through syllables like strangers in our own home. What was heralded as achievement was invisibility and erasure promised with a better name. Before survival narrowed their vision, the elders who gathered whole worlds inside them would have loved to imagine a life where they didn't have to grow so fast. Callused with tender care. To endure so as to nurture, petals lying across the ground, a becoming.

Honored with the opportunity to depict Charlie (aka the biggest and most lovable attention whore). Unfortunately, I wasnât there at the time of his passing, but I will never forget the times when he would beg for constant pets whenever I would come over to hang out. My Christmas was relatively chill, but playing Santa for someone and having the chance to breathe life back to a loved one in the form of a paintingâfrom painting to wrapping, and also hand-deliveringâmade my holiday a lil bit more special.
Iâve always liked the look of having the underlying sketch apparent in old mastersâ work . It lends a quality of an eternal âwork in progressâ that, to me, makes the painting breathe and feel more alive

2025 was an insane ride full of silly little adventures and nurturing connections
Left my animation job, and I've never been so busy now that I'm forging my own path in this crazy job market. 2025 was the year of analogue where I leaned heavily into trad painting and picked up other trades along the way. Plein air will always be my go-to weapon of choice, but it also was important for me also pick up other skills along the wayâeven if it's just for fun! If I'm not somewhere out in the wild looking for painting quests, I'm probably slapping rainbow holdsâ¨
