I missed Sugar when I first became a fan in the early 90s. I’ve seen Bob live a pile of times but never thought this reunion would happen. Two fantastic sold out shows at Webster Hall were a joy. The band was loud and sounded great and the set list was fantastic. I met up with some members of the sugar-list on Saturday (a mailing list that I have been a member of since ‘94 or ‘95). On Sunday I went to the show with my high school buddy Jeff. Perfect weekend.
A whirlwind trip to Ithaca during the polar vortex to catch the Harvard / Dartmouth hockey weekend. We caught a great classics/archaeology lecture, tried the excellent dining hall at Toni Morrison hall, fish flew, and the team came out flying and swept in thrilling fashion. The Florida boy didn’t even mind the “feels like -22” too much.
Another great celebration in the books. Two turkeys — one in the oven, one smoked on the grill — and five pies. Only American wines. Time to sleep off the food coma.
