Christianity has experienced some of the largest losses due to religious switching of any faith group around the world. This is particularly the case for Catholicism which has lost more people than it’s gained in 21 of the 24 countries we analyzed around the world. People who have left Catholicism have tended to join Protestantism or disaffiliate from religion altogether. What are you seeing in your community? What other religious groups are you curious about? Let us know in the comments.

Ahead of what the White House is calling a “large-scale revival” on the National Mall this weekend devoted to “rededicating our country as One Nation under God,” a new Pew Research Center survey shows that a growing minority of U.S. adults say religion is gaining influence in American life. And more than half say religion plays a positive role in society. At the same time, there are sharp differences between Republicans and Democrats on whether religion’s influence is good or bad and how far that influence should go. To learn more, comment "official religion" and we'll DM you the full report. #religion #politics #revival

There has been a small increase in the share of Americans who say they want the government to declare Christianity the nation's official religion. But most Americans reject the idea that Christianity should be the nation's official faith. Our survey also shows there’s been a slight decline in the share of Americans who want the government to stop enforcing separation of church and state. Want to discover more on how Americans feel about religion’s influence in government and public life? Comment “official religion” and we’ll DM you the link to the full report.

When breaking news happens, Americans don’t all start in the same place to find more information. Age plays a big role in it: Older adults are far more likely to go straight to their preferred news organization, while younger adults are more likely to turn to search engines or social media. Where do you usually turn first for breaking news? 👇️ #PewKnightInitiative

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! 🏫 ✏️ 🍎 In 2024, we asked public K-12 teachers what Americans should know about teaching, in their own words. 💬 Teachers shared a variety of challenges, from working long hours to taking on roles and responsibilities that go beyond teaching. Yet there were many bright spots too. Teachers wrote about how deeply they care about their students, and how rewarding teaching can be. Who is your favorite teacher and what made them special to you? Let us know in the comments. ⬇️ #TeacherAppreciationWeek #TeachersOfInstagram #Teachers #TeacherAppreciation #TeacherGram

Americans’ assessments of President Donald Trump have declined over the last several months. His job-approval rating now stands at 34% -- the lowest mark of his second term. He has also lost ground across a variety of personal attributes and issue areas, including confidence in his handling of immigration, foreign policy, and the use of military force. These declines have come at least as much from Republicans as from Democrats. While most Trump voters still approve of the way he is handling his job as president, that share is shrinking, with the most pronounced declines among his younger and Hispanic supporters. For more findings, comment "Trump" and we'll DM you the link to the full report.
