I had been reading The Tongue Snatchers, by the French writer Claudine Herrmann.
She focuses on the French verb voler, which means “to fly” or
“to steal,” the two paths traditionally available to women when we speak. We either flee and disappear or steal, adopt, and adapt to the dominant language of men, often at our own expense. Herrmann offers another route, that of the “Mother Tongue,” the voice with an authentic vernacular akin to our experiences, fierce and compassionate at once; the voice as a knife that can slice, carve, or cut, shape, sculpt, or stab.

The first Thuinland workshop was so soul nourishing, spirit lifting, restorative, and fulfilling. I have bottled up these feelings and memories to keep forever. ❤️🔥 I am so deeply moved by the accomplishments of everyone who attended and I feel incredibly honored to share parts of each individual’s fly journey with them 🪽 The gratitude I have toward both Vitor and Petter for curating such a positive, productive, fun, and relaxing environment to collaborate such a dream team of coaches, is also noteworthy. Another extra special shout out to Maile and Frango for making sure all the rigging was done in time! 🙏 stay tuned… we have to do it again!!! Viva BRASIL!!!
