Bush Search and Rescue Navshield comp - a cold way to spend a Saturday in Jenolan state forest including a little snow and one or two injuries #navshield
From the archives - a mix of Palestinian Bedouin and Israeli graffiti on the walls of an old Jordanian police station used by the IDF as a firing/training zone, el-Bariyah / the Wilderness / Judean desert, west of Bethlehem.
Proud of the very small team of people plus extraordinary volunteers that spent the last 18+ months working on this. Doing the job that two governments weren’t able or prepared to do - an historical investigation resulting in a cataloging of casualties and statistical detailing of cross border bombardments in the north of Iraq. 93% of civilians casualties haven’t resulted in compensation despite that being enshrined in Iraqi law. Hopefully this can go some way to change that, as well as add to the pressure on regional governments to not target civilians. @cptikurdistan.team
A man surveying Gara Mountain range and the fire damage caused by Turkish bombardments near his land close to Deraluk in Iraqi Kurdistan.
He is unable to reach his land due to the Turkish military activity (bombardments and presence of ground troops) and visits this spot everyday to look towards his land.
Turkish military operations Iraqi Kurdistan (northern Iraq) have expanded in the last month with a new military operation targeting the Kurdistan Workers Party positions in the vicinity of Gara and Metina mountains. This new offensive has put villages and towns on the frontline and greatly effected the lives of civilians in the area with at least 9 villages displaced.
