Hey, I’m Petra, a designer for 25 years and a calligrapher for 15 years. For those of you who don’t know me yet, let me introduce myself briefly. And thank you for following me or simply reading my words! I have been self-employed for 20 years, working in Munich. I am an introvert, tango dance, single mother and proud mom of a wonderful daughter who is now studying. I love juggling with letters, the finest strokes of a pointed pen, bold brush lettering, collages, and abstract play with shapes, colors, and surfaces. I loose myself in a meditative state when writing, in dialogue with the scratching of the pen or the smacking of thick layers of paint. My love of good typography and my sense of aesthetics accompany my work. My activities include calligraphy for luxury brands, on site and in my studio, activations and events, and I pass on my knowledge as a lecturer. I have been teaching at universities, giving workshops and private lessons for 15 years. For me, writing and art are forms of self-expression, always a new experience or an exciting experiment. I am fascinated by mastering classical calligraphy, letting go in abstract works, and playfully bringing together a wide variety of disciplines. the sound of waves. I am home. … ☀️🌊🐚 Wenn ich am Meer sitze, das beruhigende Geräusch der Wellen höre, fühle ich mich ganz eins. Ganz bei mir. Entspannt. Als wurden die Wellen meine Gedanken ordnen. Negatives wegnehmen, Positives zu mir bringen. Und immer denke ich am Meer, wie wunderschön verlässlich die Wellen kommen und gehen. Egal was passiert, sie rauschen zielstrebig a den Strand und ziehen sich stolz wieder zurück. Manchmal fast vorsichtig, manchmal wilder. So wie ich mich oft fühle. Am Meer fühle ich mich angekommen. Zuhause. . When I sit by the sea and hear the soothing sound of the waves, I feel completely at one with myself. Fully present. Relaxed. As if the waves were organizing my thoughts—sweeping away the negative and bringing the positive to me. And whenever I’m by the sea, I think about how beautifully reliable the waves are as they come and go. No matter what happens, they rush purposefully toward the shore and proudly pull back again. Sometimes almost cautiously, sometimes more wildly. Just like I often feel. By the sea, I feel like I’ve arrived. I am enough. Even here. Even now. … Happy Birthday! … ☀️🌊🐚 Geburtstag. Und ich bin das erste Mal an diesem Tag am Meer. 20 Grad und ich darf am Strand liegen. Und einfach sein. Einfach genug sein. Nichts beweisen müssen. In diesem Moment. In allen Momenten an diesem Tag. Aber auch morgen und in im neuen Lebensjahr. Es ist so wichtig, dass ich mir immer wieder bewusst werde, dass ich völlig gut bin, so wie ich bin. Ich hab viel erlebt, viel gelernt. Ich habe eine wunderbare Tochter, einen grossartigen Beruf. Und ich möchte authentisch sein. Ich mag mich tatsächlich, wie ich bin. Und so sage ich mir immer wieder – gerade wenn Zweifel kommen – ich bin genug. Gerade an diesem Ort, wo ich bin. Gerade jetzt in diesem Moment. Und ich wünsche mir heute zum Geburtstag, dass ihr auch zu euch sagt »I am enough. Even here. Even now« 💕 . Birthday. And it’s my first birthday time at the beach. It’s 20 degrees, and I get to lie on the sand. And just be. Just be enough. Not having to prove anything. In this moment. In every moment of this day. But also tomorrow and in the coming year of my life. It’s so important that I keep reminding myself that I’m perfectly fine just the way I am. I’ve experienced a lot, learned a lot. I have a wonderful daughter, a great job. And i want to be authentic. I actually like myself just the way I am. And so I keep telling myself—especially when doubts arise—I am enough. Right here, where I am. Right now, in this moment. And my birthday wish today is that you, too, tell yourselves, “I am enough. Even here. Deep like the ocean – I‘m not for everyone. … ☀️🌊🐚 Noch gucke ich aufs Meer. Höre das Meeresrauschen am Strand und stelle mir vor, wie ich in die Tiefe abgleite. Tauchen. Abtauchen. In die Stille des Meeres, mit den meditativen Atem- und Wassergeräuschen. Ich liebe diese scheinbare Ruhe. Diese Weite und doch versteckt so viel Schönheit und Wildes zugleich. Wenn man dort unten in der Tiefe möglichst viel sehen möchte, muss man genau schauen. Geduldig beobachten. Das Besondere zeigt sich nicht sofort. So ist das auch mit uns introvertierten Menschen. Nur wer sich wirklich Zeit nimmt, wird uns in unserer ganzen Tiefe kennenlernen. Wir sind eben nicht für jeden schnell sichtbar. Öffnen uns aber gern für Menschen, wo wir echtes Interesse spüren. . I’m still looking out at the sea. I hear the sound of the waves on the beach and imagine myself gliding into the depths. Diving. Submerging. Into the silence of the sea, with its meditative sounds of breathing and water. I love this apparent calm. This vastness, yet it hides so much beauty and wildness at the same time. If you want to see as much as possible down there in the depths, you have to look closely. Observe patiently. What’s special doesn’t reveal itself right away. It’s the same with us introverts. Only those who truly take the time will get to know us in all our depth. We’re just not immediately visible to everyone. Sunset over the ocean and my soul goes quiet. ( oh … I forgot the stroke in the »Q« 😅) … ☀️🌊🐚 Wenn ich aufs Meer schaue, das Rauschen der Wellen höre, wie sie am Strand auf die Steine treffen, dann erfüllt mich eine tiefe Ruhe. Und wenn dann auch noch die Sonne stimmungsvoll sich dem Horizont nähert, orangegolden leuchtet und mit den Wellen tanzend zu mir über die Wellen strahlt … dann spüre ich eine Wärme in mir, eine Zufriedenheit, die ganz besonders für mich ist. Eine Stille, ein Leuchten und beides durchflutet mein Herz. Zauberhafte Augenblicke am Meer, die ich mit nach Hause trage. . When I look out at the sea, hear the sound of the waves as they crash against the rocks on the beach, a deep sense of calm comes over me. And when the sun begins to sink towards the horizon, casting an orange-gold glow and dancing across the waves as it shines down on me… then I feel a warmth within me, a sense of contentment that is uniquely mine. A stillness, a glow – and both flood my heart. Happy Easter! Buona Pasqua! Frohe Ostern! 🕊️☀️ . Auszeit. Nichts planen. Keine Projekte. Kein Social Media. Ruhe. Stille. Seit über einer Woche genieße ich Sonne, Meeresrauschen, das erste mal 1,5 Stunden Serpentinen mit dem Rad hochfahren. Allein. Höre Wildschweine im Gebüsch grunzen oder gerade ein italienisches Stimmengewusel um mich herum. Ich sitze in der Sonne am Meer in Levanto und zeichne Mandalas. Und gleich geht’s zum Aperitivo. Ich gönne mir dieses Loslassen, den Luxus nichts tun zu müssen, spontan zu entscheiden, was ich in einem Moment wirklich gern tun möchte. Oder eben auch garnichts tun. Lauschen. Beobachten. Wie das Meer schimmert. Die Sonne den Horizont küsst. So öffne ich Raum für mich. Und dann passiert etwas schönes. Ideen kommen. Ganz von allein. . #holidays #levanto #timeout #vacanze
