A design I made for a calander.
For April I went with the story of Persephone and Hades, which symbolises the change of seasons.
Hades snatches the 'goddess of spring' and takes her down to the underworld, where she eats 6 pomegranate seeds. To stop the famine caused by this kidnap, Zeus (her father) then makes a deal that she will spend 6 months in the underworld and 6 months on Earth. Ensuring the Earth will flourish with growth for 6 months of the year. Giving us the seasons.
