I DO NOT NEED A CHECK IN. To everyone who has the thought to check in on me after seeing one the many recent asian hate crimes. I need you to reflect on how you have been treating the Asian community prior to COVID-19. Have you done or even said anything that would be deemed insensitive?
As I see many of my friends and influencers I follow recently post and share stories; know my reasons behind not following suit are not because I am unaware or I do not support the movement.
It is because I AM EXHAUSTED. Exhausted of being written off in the past as being over zealous, going overboard, dramatic, too passionate, taking things too seriously! Suddenly being everything I just stated above is valid. To be outraged by these heinous attacks on another human being. Man becomes predator, devolutionizing. Just monotonous mindless unintentional stories, posts, and hashtags. I am tired of reposting and sharing this information only to see no true change. Only a change in my feed.
If you have made it this far I appreciate your time. I will not be hashtagging or tagging this as it will only add to the redundant sea of algorithms for companies to target me with ads and other accounts that post and repost the exact same content.
