REALITY CHECK
2025: After spending a year back home in France in 2024, returning to Australia in 2025 came with a bittersweet mix of emotions — sad to leave, happy to be back. As my family and I settled into routine, I was ready and excited to dive back into work after completing an analog film course at the École des Beaux-Arts and a Unit Film Stills course.
However, unexpected and severe health issues stopped me right in my tracks. While trying to stay afloat — managing bookings, life, and work — my physical health declined, and my mental health bore the worst of it. Between medical treatments, anaemia, brain fog and hormonal chaos, I found myself completely depleted and wrecked. BURNT OUT, fried.
It’s hard to strike the balance between personal and professional when you’ve poured your heart into a business, but I trust most people will understand. 6months on, I’m still under treatment and carefully reassessing. I am getting better even if things have looked quiet from the outside.
Despite the slowdown, I’ve continued moving forward: shooting beautiful weddings, signing with a creative talent agency, working as a unit stills photographer on TV productions, returning to sport (with a few broken bones along the way). But I can only keep going by listening to my body and mind. I simply don’t have the capacity to do everything — or do it fast.
2026: For now, I’ll be taking on fewer wedding bookings and adapting my offerings (because shooting photo and video solo isn’t sustainable). I’ll be focusing more on art direction, commercial and unit stills work through my agency, delegating admin, and allowing space to fully commit to each project. I’ll also be updating my website to reflect this shift.
Thank you for your patience with slower replies and quieter months. I care deeply about maintaining high standards, and that means being honest — with you and with myself.
Here’s to a gentler, brighter 2026 🤍
Just a pic to break the feed up before sharing some important news and updates for me and Petite Visuals .

Back story: this pic was taken during a Saint Laurent event at the 77thCannes Festival . Same season I got to photograph the chaos and glam of Cannes. You can see the essay on the @tpj The photographic Journal
WEDDINGS ARE MEANT TO BE FUN
and the photos should reflect that. Yes, we like some editorial vibe images, but in order to associate the accurate feels to them, they need to feel authentic. Yes “Make it vogue”, but “make it real” too. Don’t go for the “highly curated and editorial style” at the expense of fun, chaos, and genuine laughter.
We want images that reflect YOUR day , not to appear in a corner of a British fashion magazine (unless broken heels on the dance floor is a new Balanciaga fashion trend). We want photos you want to pin on your fridge and want to tag your mates on Facebook with. We capture your day.
And the Good news is: we thrive in chaos and fun, and work on editorials. So we can do a EDITORIAL CHAOS. And if you like that too, you know where to find me ✌️

After some subtle twin peaks / lost in translation vibes were delivered walking around China town and @hydemelbourneplace , A & H met with close family and friends for a lovely ceremony and a few DIY drinks (kid approved). The ceremony had changed but the euphoria of the day didn’t. It was hot and windy and love was definitely in the air!

SOLO PORTRAIT IDEAS
Here’s a list you might want to save:
- first, check in with your subject if they are ok with proximity and if they feel more comfortable looking at the camera or away (this will help scheme out your portraits with which lens to use and posing)
- use inspo in non wedding portraiture (paintings, press, editorials, interviews/press junkets, music and band photos…)
- use foreground and background elements to frame (holding something in your hand near your lens or use perspective lines)
- on that note: use reflection, mirrors
- tell your subject to move in their position, while they settle in their position take the photo. For a subject who might be a bit more hesitant, ask them to do something, so they shift their attention somewhere else like eating, fixing clothing, playing cards…
- use tilt and blur with intention. For example I like tilting my lens if there are conflicting lines in the frame; and I will use motion and blur when there is jewellery or something sparkling
- do solo portraits, but find ways to include their partner in the frame: I like using reflection and shadows
- TRIANGLES: frame the subject with arms, legs, feet, etc. - tip: use imaginary lines in your shot that run diagonally
- POV . Use pov of another subject. Especially pets. 🐶
Hope this helps!
A WEDDING IN PARIS
-
Julie + Benjamin’s Mid-week civil ceremony at the Neuilly mairie in Paris. Beautiful afternoon with loved ones, la Seine, Bir Hakeim bridge, coffee and ciggies, gold trims of the mairie and live music at home. It was an awesome way to do the legal ceremony before celebrating their big wedding at the Chateau Barthélémy on the weekend.
Vive les mariés ✌️ ❤️
