The Pete and Thomas Foundation and Habitat for Humanity are partnering to repair homes of older residents across Texas. Our joint effort will kick off in Houston on Megan Thee Stallion Day. Thirty homes will receive essential home repairs, including roofing, weatherproofing, critical structural stabilization, ramp installations and other home mobility modifications to help older residents live safely in their homes.
One of the first homes we will repair is for Carolyn, a lifelong Houston resident, who wants to remain in the community she has always called home. For Carolyn, this house is more than a place to live -- it’s part of a lifelong network of relationships, including neighbors she has known since childhood and who are like family. Staying in the home where she raised her children represents stability, identity, and connection.
