Abbey Theatred and Odgers Ireland
The Abbey Theatre is delighted to announce playwright Peter Trant as the recipient of the
@odgersireland Artists' Studio Bursary 2025, an initiative supporting emerging playwrights through residency, mentorship, and financial supports.
Peter is a playwright and actor, based in Monaghan. His play Champions was selected for the 2022 Drama League of Ireland’s Playwriting Project. His play The Cowboys received an amateur production in 2018. As an actor, Peter performed in The Revenant, a play written specifically for him by Pat McCabe.
Commenting, Peter said: "Receiving this bursary from The Abbey Theatre and Odgers Ireland is a wonderful boost to my work as a playwright. It’s given me renewed confidence in my writing and the encouragement to keep developing new ideas.
