For anyone in the Hamilton area, I'll be a featured artist with the Musicata chamber choir, Sunday May 3rd at 3pm.

Lots of appealing tunes with a great choir!
For anyone in the Aurora Ontario area, there's an amazing new multi-media show called Sabzeh running until mid October at the Aurora Art Gallery, 50 Victoria Street. Featuring the music of composer Parisa Sabet, there's a lot to see and enjoy!
Under a week to go, and just a travel alert for anyone coming by TTC: apparently the subway will not be running from Woodbine to Chester. If travelling east, you can get off at Broadview, it's a short walk to the church. Shuttle busses will be running between Woodbine and Broadview as well. Hope to see you there!
Hello friends,
Hope this finds you all doing well as we head into spring! I wanted to let everyone know about an upcoming concert I'm doing with the Counterpoint Orchestra in downtown Toronto /
Nearly 30 years ago a friend and fellow UofT graduate, composer John Gladwell, hearing that I was newly back in Canada after graduate studies, asked if I'd like to record a clarinet piece he wrote. His style is very tuneful and melodic, and he had written this music for live clarinet and electronic sounds, many of which emulated an orchestra. The recording was quite successful, often being played on radio, and you can still hear some of John's compositions on the Stingray "Spa" new-age TV channel.
A couple of years ago John mentioned to me that he had decided to orchestrate out all the former electronic parts, in the hopes that someday we could get a performance with a live orchestra to happen. Thanks to my good friend conductor Andrew Chung, this has become a reality and will happen on Saturday June 7 at 7:30pm, at East End United/Eastminster Church, 310 Danforth Avenue, just west of Chester subway station.
John's 3-movement "Open Passage" concerto for clarinet is an amazing and colourful piece, taking full advantage of the many instruments of the orchestra as it explores themes of the sea. A Rossini overture and the rarely-performed, beautiful Gaelic Symphony of Amy Beach are also on the concert. Please come if you can! Poster attached,
Many thanks,
Peter
Hi everyone,
Just to be clear as I've had a few emails, this master class is free admission and open to everyone, not just UofT students! All are welcome...Mr.Frost will work with 2 UofT students, the rest of us will observe, so no need to bring your instruments, just watch and enjoy being up close to a clarinet superstar!
Amazing moment in a Beatles tribute concert with a lookalike (and soundalike!) band with the Niagara Symphony: in a slow ballad out came the audience cell phone flashlights imitating the lighters in the air thing. It was so impressive even our conductor grabbed his cell phone to take a pic!
