Ark Cabinet

Created as a bespoke companion piece to Natalia Nesterova’s monumental Noah’s Ark (2013) for a private home, the Ark Cabinet (2025) is a sculptural, museum-grade credenza that translates the painting’s earthy tonal rhythms into a contemporary work of collectible design. Conceived to sit alongside the canvas, the cabinet mirrors its palette of light and dark browns, from soft blonde hues to deep umber tones, expressed through 20,000 individual ribbons of custom-dyed rye straw marquetry. Every available internal and external surface is covered with hand-laid straw marquetry, producing a shimmering, faceted surface that shifts with the light.
Commissioned specifically to function as an elegant serving credenza, the piece is designed to hold glassware, rare crockery, and objects used for hosting dinner parties, marrying sculptural presence with refined utility.

Recently had the pleasure of photographing author and journalist @luciannetonti at @cams_kiosk on her book Sundressed, a fascinating book that addresses the role of natural fibers as an answer to the climate crisis in the fashion industry.
That first properly hot summer’s day always brings me back flashes of memories. Snippets in my mind of all my summers past. Cool mornings in the garden before the heat of the day, coffee with ice, reading in bed, those first tomatoes freshly picked, salty swims, sticky night walks and dinners under eaves with lots of fizzy drinks and basil salad and jazz that’s so cliché, but just so right.
Excited to introduce these few new pieces which have felt missing from my summer wardrobe, and I’ve been dreaming about on summer mornings for years.
