Posting this a little late because I’ve been away recceing our next production, but this a very proud moment for us all - Warp Films receiving UK Production Compnay of the Year Award at Edinburgh Television Festival.
What a journey it’s been and continues to be - from Mark Herbert starting the company in his shed in Sheffield with Barry Ryan and us all making Dead Man’s Shoes together; This Is England, Four Lions, Submarine, ‘71 and so many other iconic feature films; branching out into telling stories internationally - The Last Panthers with Jack Thorne, Johan Renck, Caroline Benjo, Goran Bogdan et al, Little Birds taking us back in time to 1950s Morocco; and most recently back to Warp’s roots in Sheffield with Reunion written by the wonderful William Mager and the phenomenon that is Adolescence - hats off Stephen Graham, Hannah Walters, Phil Barantini, Jack Thorne again!, Emily Feller, Niall Shamma, Peter Balm, Leo Martin.
To all Warp friends and colleagues, I’m massively proud of you. And Mark Herbert, thank you for sharing this. What a ride it’s been. And here’s to Warp continuing to go from strength to strength 💪🔥❤️
Happy festives one and all. May they be restorative and full of love and good company. May the year ahead bring little jewels to cherish amid the global gloom. May we know when to fight the good fight . . . and when to just chill.
Update on the Ben Nevis walk - Es and I have reached Loch Lomond. Heading up to Firt William today to meet the rest of the gang. Then 6am start Sunday to walk up the mountain.
Thanks to all who have supported us! More updates to follow!
We made it! 1650 kms. St Malo to Nice - the Channel to the Med.
No punctures 🙂 A lot of cake. Spectacular landscapes. Unexpected encounters. Humbling and exhilirating. A pilgrimage. A privilege.
Thanks to fam and friends who gave unending encouragement and support. Thanks to La Belle France (especially on the days when i hadn’t closed for lunch or holidays). Thanks to our trusty steeds. And thanks to the best travelling companion and partner in crime @Nathan Davies
