The people were.
And what they survive is never just history—it’s daily life.
I took this in a place most people will never go—and most stories never come back from.
I don’t photograph moments like this for shock or distance. I photograph them because they’re human, and because they matter even when no one is looking.
This is the work I’ve spent my life doing: bearing witness.
These two boys changed the way I see everything.
I photograph people in places most of the world never sees—but Im also just a dad trying to keep up with two 11-year-olds who think the world is still simple.
They don’t just live in my life. They shape the way I see every other one.
