Heart research on stage and on all levels: Philosophy on Stage #6: Notebook of the Heart is a four-day research lab crossing art and philosophy, inviting audiences to participate in cross-cultural research on the heart. Researchers from India, Europe and North America as well as from the different fields of art, philosophy, cardiology and quantum physics display their expertise on the pulsating realities of the heart on the stage of brut nordwest, thus giving a taste and shared sense of rhythmically vibrating matter: from the pulse rate of the human heart to cosmic heartbeats and all the way to the pulse of the Earth with which all beings try to get in accordance. By the way, fun fact: The word ‘accordance’ comes from the Latin ‘ad-cor-dia’ and means ‘to bring hearts together’. Isn’t that a beautiful wording? So, from the bottom of our hearts: Welcome!

We are delighted to share with you an exciting new project. Lucie Strecker, Lecturer in Art and Communication Practices (KKP) and Senior Researcher at the Angewandte Performance Lab, has curated a pilot project at the Funkhaus.
The pilot project is being developed in dialogue with the Angewandte Performance Lab. As part of her course, she will visit the Shotel with students and, together with Peter Kozek, perform and facilitate on site with and along side Ann Liv Young.
The American performance artist Ann Liv Young assumes the persona of Sherry Vignon and opens a hotel of a different kind at the Funkhaus: the Shotel. Sherry has also devised her own Sherapy programme, so at the Funkhaus you can not only spend the night but be healed of anything.
Sherry Vignon is from Murfreesboro, North Carolina. She began her career as a moderate Christian radio show host. Realising she had a knack for helping others, she quickly created Sherapy, a form of active therapy.
She has worked all over the world helping analysts, therapists, psychiatrists, the terminally ill, marginalised citizens, children, pets, corporations, and many more.
Sherry has also worked with many women who have gone on to lead corporate America, helping them unleash and access their inner boss.
The Shotel Project
The Shotel has been a long-time dream of Sherry’s. Sherry specialises in southern hospitality, and the Shotel will be more than a hotel, with options for Sherapy and immersive entertainment experiences. Sherry is here to take care of you and presents the Shotel as a resting place to look inward.
Sherry uses advanced physical techniques based on root chakra research she began doing as a teen. She can help anyone by assertively encouraging them to lookinward. Sherry is also an entertainer, which does not hurt.

𝐶𝐿𝑈𝐵 𝑘𝑒𝑥— ist ein Talkshow-Format, gehostet von Peter Kozek und Georgia Holz, das Künstler*innen der Wiener Performanceszene aus verschiedenen Generationen auf die Bühne holt. Wir widmen uns exemplarisch den gegenseitigen Beeinflussungen und Beziehungen zwischen Künstler*innen(biografien) und Kunsträumen. Dabei erkunden wir, welche Möglichkeiten der Selbstermächtigung und Emanzipation sich durch eine gemeinschaftliche Geschichtsschreibung auftun und wie Wissen kollaborativ produziert und weitergegeben werden kann.
