Sharing a remarkable moment for my family and for Sikh history 👑🪯 In 2001, our mother firmly instructed our father to buy the stunning portrait of Maharani Jind Kaur...and when our mother wanted something, she got it! It is an exquisite portrait belonging to the Kapany Collection, courtesy of the Sikh Foundation. Maharani Jind Kaur, the youngest wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and mother of the last Sikh ruler Duleep Singh, was a woman of extraordinary courage and fierce political intelligence. Known as the “Lioness of the Punjab,” she stood against colonial power with strength, dignity, and an unbreakable spirit. Deepest gratitude to our dear friends Simran and Peter Bance for the decades of care, patience, and determination they devoted to bringing together the remarkable works now on display in The Last Princesses of Punjab and writing the fabulous book. This exhibition and book are more than a collection of objects. They are living pieces of Sikh history. The Last Princesses of Punjab exhibition is now open at Kensington Palace (March 26 – November 8, 2026), and at its heart stands Maharani Jind Kaur, the last Queen of Punjab. Thrilled to view the exhibit with our most beautiful friends of the foundation: Punjabi princesses Jaskiran Bhogal and her family, Siya Valecha and Simran Randhawa. 🖼️ 📍 Kensington Palace, London 🗓️ On view through November 8, 2026 #MaharaniJindKaur #LastQueenOfPunjab #SikhFoundation #KensingtonPalace #kapanycollection

Standing beside the portrait of Maharani Jind Kaur, with my dear friend Kiki Kapany, whose father the late Dr Narinder Kapany, purchased this beautiful oil painting and which now forms part of the Kapany Collection Was lovely catching up with Kiki after many years and showing her around the new exhibition at Kensington Palace to which she has graciously loaned the Maharani Jind Kaur portrait as centrepiece #maharanijindkaur #sikhart #punjabheritage #indianroyalty #indianprincess

Royal fables takes this honour to host the launch of The Last Royals of Lahore - The Duleep Singhs by Peter Bance @peter.bance , an evening that brought together history, memory, and living legacies under one roof at @andazdelhi The conversation unfolded with a great depth, as Rani Preeti Singh of Nabha @preeti_nabha , Cynthiya Meera Federick @cynthiameerafrederick and Peter Bance came together in dialogue, moderated by our founder, Anshu Khanna, reflecting on stories that continue to shape our cultural consciousness. The evening was marked by the presence of Princess Inayat Inder Kaur of Patiala @inayatinderkaur , Nawaab Kazim Ali Khan Rampur @navaid786 who unveiled the book, adding a moment of quiet significance to the gathering. From thoughtful exchanges to shared reminiscences, the evening was a reminder that royal histories are not just preserved in archives, but carried forward through voices, people, and memory. #RoyalFables #LastRoyalsOfLahore #PeterBance #RoyalLegacy #BookLaunch CulturalEvening IndianRoyalty LivingHistory
