Look who’s 1!
It’s hard to believe a year has passed since the publication of my first book. What a wild ride!?!? I never imagined how rewarding and emotionally draining a book would be. I’m honestly still recovering.
Thank you to everyone who came to an event, bought a book, read it, interviewed me or shared thoughts on it. Every message I received from friends and strangers lifted my heart and helped quiet the imposter-syndrome (and the meanies / homophobes on Goodreads!).
Special thanks to the incredible team at Penguin Random House Canada for treating me and my book like their biggest priority of the year - you guys exceeded all of my expectations in the best way. Sue, Scott, Evan and Polly - you guys rock!
The best way to celebrate would be to go out and buy it at your local bookstores (shout out to Another Story Bookshop - what a launch, Flying Books and Queen Street Books for their amazing support) and spark some sales for my first baby! Xoxo
NEW & IMPROVED POST - WITH SPECIAL GUEST PHIL VILLENEUVE!!!
My first event with the Toronto Public Library and it’s at the Reference Library…with an angel on earth! I’m so thrilled to be part of their programming. Please come and join me on June 11th and support book events during Pride!

PETE CRIGHTON is on Tracks of Our Queers.
Last year Pete published THE VINYL DIARIES, a deeply personal and often quite saucy memoir of his queer life through significant vinyls. Perfect for the pod.
Available wherever you listen to podcasts 🪩
Thank you for having me @festofauthors - had a blast talking about The Vinyl Diaries last night. Meeting other writers and book lovers these past few days has been a dream come true! Can’t wait til next year! 🥰
The support from @penguinrandomca has been amazing, as always.
Awesome to see my Cosmic Thing 33 1/3 book reviewed in UK based Classic Pop magazine - in print no less! “Crighton’s book will make you look at the B-52s, and this buoyant, empowering album, in a wholly different light.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for including me and this incredible band in your pages @classicpopmag
What a thrill to be appearing, and in conversation, with Andre Aciman on Nov 1 during the Toronto International Festival of Authors. Career and life highlight moment for me! Check out the festival here: https://festivalofauthors.ca/
My book got me invited to see the first show of the B-52s tour with DEVO in Toronto! What a BLAST!
Sadly didn’t meet the band (they were rushing off to fly to their next show tonight!) but came home with a backstage pass and a set list signed by Fred!
I sure never imagined that when I spent my allowance money on their first album roughly 45 years ago!
And then there were 2! Happy publication day to Cosmic Thing! To have my first two books published within a few months of each other is wild and to be able celebrate my love of the B-52s in Bloomsbury’s esteemed 33 1/3 series is a real honour. As I write in the book…..Let’s queer the B-52s!
It is happening!
