Saleh Sheihk, Executive Director of DICE (Diverse Inclusive Community for Everyone), spoke in support of Councillor Anthony Perruzzaâs motion to explore a City-run grocery store pilot. As someone working closely with residents across Toronto, Saleh highlighted the growing strain families are facing as the cost of food, rent, and everyday essentials continues to rise.
Thank you to the community leaders who continue to advocate for practical solutions that support residents across our city.

Thando Khupe, a Community Development Worker at Delta Family Resource Centre, spoke in support of Councillor Anthony Perruzzaâs motion to explore a City-run grocery store pilot. Through his work supporting families, he has seen how increasing grocery prices are placing immense pressure on households across the community.
At Delta Family Resource Centre, the demand for food support has grown so significantly that their food bank has reached full capacity and can no longer take on new clients. This reality reflects the broader affordability crisis many residents are facing across Toronto.

At City Council today, Iâm bringing forward a motion to address rising grocery prices and stand up for residents in Toronto
No one should have to choose between putting food on the table and paying the bills. This motion is about fairness, affordability, and real support for our community.
Iâll keep pushing for solutions that make life more affordable for everyone. đđŞ

Stay warm and safe!
After days of waiting, our recycling in Humber River-Black Creek was finally collected. Hundreds of residents contacted my office and up to 10,000 households were affected by Circular Materials missed pick up.
I was not in support of this change and I believe that the City is best positioned to collect recycling with our infrastructure 24/7 call line at 311. That said, I will continue to work for the best possible service for residents of Toronto.
If youâre not sure of your collection schedule, click the link below to find your waste collection calendar:
