When it comes to vintage in Manchester, there’s nowhere better than @permanentorbit
Known for its carefully curated mix of unisex vintage clothing and distinctive homeware, the store has built a reputation as a go-to spot in the city.
Drawing heavy inspiration from Americana, band merch, and military style, the racks are packed with graphic tees, quality denim, and the best selection of caps in the North.
Founder Joe Sharpe is the driving force behind it all—his sharp eye constantly sourcing rare pieces you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.
Whether you’re in the area or just passing through, it’s a must-visit. And even if you’re not shopping, it’s the kind of place you can hang out, talk about great clothes, or even sit outside for a game of chess.
If you pass by Quay Street in Manchester, you’ll find one of the best vintage stores in the North of England: @permanentorbit 🛰️
From 70’s work jackets and leather Varsities to rare Americana and vintage band t-shirts, Permanent Orbit hosts a constantly evolving selection of garments, paraphernalia and oddities from yesteryear.
Permanent Orbit has become an essential visit for vintage shopping in the city since opening its doors in October 2023. “I get people who would normally shop in Selfridges and buy Balenciaga come in,” owner Joe Sharpe tells us, “but now I think they’re understanding that you can come in here and find something you’ll never see anywhere else and seeing vintage as a truly unique thing to buy.”

Yesterday was madness, seriously humbled and honoured to have Lil Yachty come through to the shop. Took some amazing pieces including the Miles Davis T-shirt he went on to wear at his gig in Manchester
