4 weeks in and @batidecoluchon have already transformed the house, the downstairs workroom is rerendered and ready for the bathroom. The walls and shower cubicle on the ground floor are removed revealing a beautiful open plan staircase. Very exciting.
Not quite the stairway to heaven, but it will be - July 2025 - in through the front door, to the left the old store room for tools and my grandfathers woodworking. The hallway use to have Dutch tiled wallpaper also bright don by my grandparents from Rotterdam in the 70s, but over the years of course it has peeled and the hallway is now bare walls and concrete. Up the stairs to ground floor and the little shower tucked away beneath the staircase.
1 month into the renovation of Perisseca, Phil and I have come down to see what’s what, it is peaceful, calm, snowing a little. The house is waiting. 30 March 2026
