ALS 🤍 On August 6, 2024 Chandler was diagnosed with ALS. To be 27 and 28, newly married and happier than ever, this diagnosis has felt cruel, unfair, and devastating. BUT, God! We have a strong and sincere faith that this is just the beginning of our story. To know and love Chandler is to know this to be true! Chandler is the most remarkable human that I have ever known and I know I am not alone in that thought. He truly is pure warmth and sunshine. We also firmly believe that to have had the opportunity to love each other and support each other so deeply as newly weds has been nothing short of a blessing. We have felt every prayer, read every message, and appreciated every phone call. From the bottom of our hearts, we are deeply grateful for the support we have received from our incredible community. Truly- we have the BEST people!! (We are told this is just as important as medication!) While this is a storm we never in a million years imagined we would walk through, we are committed to fighting this with every fiber in our beings! There is more to come, but for now the best thing you can do for us is pray for strength, peace, and slow progression! We have a BIG long life to go live and we plan on living it! With every breath that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God. P.S. We love you!

We’ve been catching our breath after an incredible few weeks… From Atlanta to Dallas, the love and support for our families has been overwhelming in the best way. Today we’re taking a moment to look back at Atlanta. The 11th Annual Quiet Hero Party was an unforgettable night that is already making a real impact. This year, we had the honor of celebrating our Quiet Hero, Chandler Schaefer, alongside his wife Peri, who are preparing to welcome their baby girl into the world. In the face of ALS, a disease that takes so much, Chandler continues to choose strength, love, and optimism. Atlanta, we are so grateful for this community. Dallas… we can’t wait to share more about last weekend! Thank you all for standing with families in their hardest moments and surrounding them with support, hope, and community. We couldn’t be more excited to share that Chandler will be the 2026 Quiet Hero at the @quietheroparty . Held in ATL and put on by young adults, this event is near and dear to our hearts. It benefits @Fact_relief which is a nonprofit organization that offers financial reimbursements, grants, and fundraising opportunities to families living with ALS. They have already made a huge impact on our lives financially by awarding us a grant to help cover the cost of the ramp we added on the exterior of the house. Home modifications are sensitive, expensive, and stressful. We are so grateful to have part of this burden lifted thanks for the generosity of FACT and the fundraising efforts at The Quiet Hero Party.
