Friends! Big News! Our new album is ripe! Nearly Human, the soundtrack to our gig-theatre experience, is being freed into the cosmos on November 25th. There will be a live celebration on Thursday 8th December. We hope you can join us for a night of all things Perhaps Contraption at @richmixlondon We will perform selections from the theatre piece and our whole repertoire, plus, a 'variety show' where individual band members will showcase their musical predilections. A clip from HURT THE FLY Released in 2020, I love this mighty, machine-gun riff in 10! It’s the penultimate song from Perhaps Contraption’s theatre show / concept album NEARLY HUMAN. This was such a fun one to create - working closely with lighting designer Pablo Fernandez Baz and choreographer Lucy Ridley, we concocted this dramatic ending sequence where the ‘fly’ in the middle is attacked by the prowling, stomping band. Music by Mickey Bones, Charly Jolly, Riccardo Castellani, Jin Theriault and Perhaps Contraption It was filmed at Snape Maltings in the amazing Britten Studio by the watchful lens-smithery of Paul McHale. Mixed & mastered by the expert ears of Guillaume Robertson.
