We want to thank all the artist/organisers who presented, and participants who took part in Gathering over the weekend. We’d also like to thank Chisenhale Dance space for generously hosting this event.
It seems appropriate to share an image of the apples gifted to us by Bronagh Lawson from Bbeyond as symbolic of the bountiful harvest that this project represents for us, falling as it did on the harvest moon.
It was a really informative, positive, warm, creative, supportive and mutually inspiring event because of all of you: your collective commitment, your openess, your knowledge, your experience, your skill and your generosity. Thanks to Bronagh from Bbeyond, Helen and Ash from SITE, Hellen and tjb from Tempting Failure, Samm and Rebecca from OTHER, Tim and Tess from Tactile Bosch for your presentations, and to Rebecca Strain and Tess Wood for leading improvisation sessions. We send our love and to you all and look forward to many more adventures with you all.
LAST FEW PLACES - 'Gathering' A Celebration of Artist Led Culture. Saturday 6th September, Chisenhale Dance Space, 64-84 Chisenhale Rd, Bow, London E3 5QZ. 11am - 6pm. Free to attend. Email [email protected] to book your place. Lunch & Refreshments provided.
You are cordially invited to join us for 'GATHERING', an artist led assembly of dynamic internationally active performance artists/organisers, intended to acknowledge and build upon a legacy of sustained independent artist led activity, dialogues and networks.
The day will feature presentations and workshops by Bbeyond, tactileBOSCH, SITE, Tempting Failure & OTHER, collective improvisation, informal networking and a celebration of artist led performance art culture.
We would like to cordially invite you to 'Tales From a London Grotto', a collaboration between Shaun Caton and Weeks & Whitford. This new performance installation will create an immersive space of visual alchemy and enchantment. The performers will interpret and perform folkloric historical narratives, in relation to local London tributaries, and their associated histories, narratives and spirits. This occult knowledge will be uncovered through a collective mediumistic research process borrowing from psychogeography, séance, dowsing, scrying, psychometry, hypnosis and electronic voice phenomenon. The resultant performance will incorporate a grotto comprised of artefacts, sound scores, and a choreography of interrelated actions.
