sad to say it’s the last two days in #naarm Melbourne. Have to work out what to do with all the prints. These are details from two prints on found maps (which are in turn stereographs from the @libraries_vic collection, printed in photogravure). I still get a big kick out of the Henry Lawson lookalike getting skewered by modern roads. Traralgon (faces, Views of underground-mining, 1901) and Traralgon (vein, Views of underground mining, 1901) both 2026, intaglio on found map, 60 x 71 cm On sale until Friday as part of subduction Perdita Phillips and Tom Sevil (aka @thomascivilian ) @baldessinstudio @library_vic Creative Fellowship Tues-Fri 10-4pm @printcouncilofaustralia Gallery Studio 2 Guild, 152 Sturt St Southbank VIC 3006

please come and water my sculpture! Tomorrow is your last Saturday to see the subduction exhibition. Tom will be there minding the gallery 11-4pm and you can water Library’s End (!995-2025) in its last week. Lots of people helped with this project—have to say @hhesterman is one of the most dynamic, chlorophyllic and amazing friends I have Library’s End (1995-2025) 2025 30 years, moss, library catalogue cards, recycled wood, 110 x 127 x 10 cm subduction Perdita Phillips and Tom Sevil (aka @thomascivilian ) @baldessinstudio @library_vic Creative Fellowship Tues-Fri 10-4 and Saturday 21 March 11-4pm @printcouncilofaustralia Gallery Studio 2 Guild, 152 Sturt St Southbank VIC 3006

A work for Frankstonites in #naarm Melbourne. It’s the most colourful work of mine in the show with its geomorphic delineation of sediments and volcanics. An interesting waypoint given that I started the project looking at geological maps from the late 1850s and early 1860. If you work during the week this Saturday 11-4pm is the only time to see the show when @thomascivilian is minding it. Older Volcanics 2026 intaglio on a found geological map (unique state) 64 x 78 cm Works on sale as part of the exhibition subduction Perdita Phillips and Tom Sevil (aka @thomascivilian ) @baldessinstudio @library_vic Creative Fellowship Tues-Fri 10-4 and Saturday 21 March 11-4pm @printcouncilofaustralia Gallery Studio 2 Guild, 152 Sturt St Southbank VIC 3006

I always find it hard not to think of a group of artworks in a space as being an installation. These were the finishing touch on the second wall of works in the gallery — groundworks almost on the ground mixed media and intaglio 42 x 20 cm (with copper plates of Lalgambook and Mount Diogenes) Works on sale as part of the exhibition subduction Perdita Phillips and Tom Sevil (aka @thomascivilian ) @baldessinstudio @library_vic Creative Fellowship Tues-Fri 10-4 and Saturday 21 March 11-4pm @printcouncilofaustralia Gallery Studio 2 Guild, 152 Sturt St Southbank VIC 3006

Sneak peak of our new exhibition!!!! Tonight we launch and celebrate the Baldessin Studio State Library Victoria Fellows Exhibition, Subduction Featuring Perdita Philips & Tom Sevil (aka Civil) Come by from 5pm tonight to congratulate these two talented artists. Perdita Philips & Tom Sevil (aka Civil) draw on the geographical idea of subduction as method and metaphor: what is pushed below is never gone; it stains, compress, mutates, and re-emerges in altered form. The exhibition is on until March 27 and the PCA gallery will also be open on Saturday March 14 and March 21 (11-4pm) Event: Artist talk with Tom Sevil (aka Civil) on Saturday March 14, 3pm Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 10-4pm Guild Studio 2, 152 Sturt Street, Southbank, VIC, 3006 Transportation: 🚃 No 1 tram to Grant St/Sturt st stop 🚗 Parking along Sturt Street or along Grant Street 🚶🏻‍♀️15 minutes walk from Flinders Street Station
