12 years ago today I was featured as ‘The Model Scout’ in my favourite magazine of the time (you 30+ gals will all remember More magazine!)
I’d been scouting for around 3 years by this point in my spare time (for free as I didn’t realise I could earn money from doing it 😅) whilst working full time as a Restaurant manager and doing a few hours a week in retail too, to pay the bills.
I don’t really ever post about my journey into how @perceptionmodels evolved but apparently I should, so here I am, even though it makes me cringe slightly 😂
Being a part of this was a huge step into making Scouting a career for me, I started to believe I had an eye for it and I could make a career out of doing it, even though I was already placing models into the top agencies in London (again, for free as nobody told me otherwise 😂)
I then started working full time as the Scout and Development Booker in a London agency, which went onto the Head of Scouting & Development and I was travelling the world bringing models back into London.
Running your own business can be REALLY hard and in this business it’s hard to set boundaries as this isn’t a 9-5 job, or even a 9-9 one in fact. BUT seeing this pop up on my Facebook memories reminds me of how far I’ve come.
I’ve been working as a freelancer for 5 years now and @perceptionmodels is over 2 years old!
We’ve got a summer of scouting coming up and I’m excited to find some of the stars of the future ✨
Sipping Cacao at @stonehenge with @amb_few for the Summer Solstice was a beautiful experience 🌞
Queing for 2 hours to get out of the car park at 5.30 this morning was not 🤣
Unreal views today at Glastonbury Tor ✨
I also drank from The White Spring after years of it being on my bucket list 🎉
What a beautiful and grounding day with lovely people ❤️
Happy 60th Birthday to my Mum ❤️
You bring me so much joy and you make me laugh everyday, you unhinged, amazing woman. Never change.
I wouldn’t be me, without you.
Love you so much @debsloveart ❤️✨
