I was born in London my other home and I do miss the place at times. My family are from Saint Lucia from the village of Canaries. Living here in Saint Lucia can feel like ground hog day and I do occasionally feel a need to get off the rock despite that the sun shines everyday, the birds chirp in the trees, folks say Good Morning to me in the supermarket and I love the Kwéyòl language, I miss hearing it when I’m not on island and folks still smile and laugh even when times are hard. I have been asked why I live here, so here are just a few more reasons why… Seeing the Iconic Pitons from the water, Sailing, the warm sea, the array of Mangoes when in season, growing papaya, I’ve even come to appreciate Caterpillars when they munch away at my Frangipani but they do fertilizer the ground with their poo, the Views, the sunsets and the light… It’s not all perfect but this is Home and there’s so much to love 🌴#saintlucia #caribbean #westindies

The weekend always gives me permission to walk away from writing my next novel (which I’m really excited about and looking forward to sharing with you.x) and kick back with the hubby and our doggy.
