High on the personal bucket list was getting to directly reference the Eames’ “Powers of Ten” short – made for IBM in 1977 – directly inside another IBM film. Their film was a revelation when I saw it as an intern – a huge personal inspiration to go into motion design. Box ✅! Also, who doesn’t love a good match cut? This sequence was animated and stitched by the inimitable @terrachenderson . #design #motiondesign #aftereffects #matchcut #powersoften #eames

👁 New work! How does IBM’s design ethos extend beyond pixels and into IRL? We were tasked to make a film that answered this question, while fitting into the company’s Design Language series. The video is a trailer for employees and vendors, inspiring them to shape the office space of the future. 👏🏼 for this team! 📣 ✍️ 🎨 @peprallyco 🎨 🎞 @htapes @terrachenderson @iamgraphicartist ✨@zortianographer 🎼 @sounds_like_ambrose Rep: @dresscodeny , @bradedels #motiondesign #design #architecture #workplace #aftereffects #cinema4d #redshift #redshift3d

My shot from a collaborative film helmed by @thefurrow , made earlier this year to spread COVID-19 awareness. Ace animation by @dougamotion ! (Thanks, doug!) Please stay safe this holiday season and ask yourself if taking a risk to enjoy celebrating now will mean missing this chance to be together later. Let’s hold off on this Oreo so we can double down next year. See the full project with all the wonderful artists who participated —furrow.tv/project/covid19. #covid_19 #stayhome #staysafe

Earlier this year, Specimen was featured in @wireduk ! Not necessarily for it’s gameplay but how our app lead to a collaboration with @cambridgeuniversity ’s Phillip Stanley Marbell, an academic and researcher who harnessed the game’s data and is using it change the way we see screens (literally). This article is the dream-come-true ending for our project. Our hope from the onset was that Specimen’s simplicity could reveal something complex. The game was designed with beauty in mind, with the hope it would catch players attention to reveal something even more elegant – something about ourselves. Thank you Phillip for helping us answer the game’s log line: What color do you see? Also thank you to author and journalist @kassiastclair for the wonderful writing! Oh, and the art photos and art direction are 😍🔥. And once again thank you to my game-making collaborators @srandazzo87 , @sharkbox , @uncleskelly and @codyuhler . (BTW, I’m posting this a bit late, so the issue isn’t on stands but it’s available online!)

!NEW NEW! How does one of the world’s premiere art museums move? When The Museum of Modern Art updated their design system, they knew much of their design would live on screens around New York, in our pockets, and even in the museum itself. Working directly with @momadesignstudio along with @order.design.nyc , we established and codified motion guidelines across the new system. 👉peprally.co/moma It’s always wonderful to work with NYC-based institutions (who also happen to have a global reach). But working with MoMA is truly a highlight. Thanks to so many who came together to work on this, especially to @giampietrorob for his leadership. And our all-star team: @terrachenderson , @kathrynnesh , @jenveee . Thanks also to Upright T-Rex (@codyuhler and @uncleskelly ) for providing the music that plays in this sizzle video! 🎨 Go out and see the new MoMA today! . . . . . . . . #motion, #moma, #branding, #aftereffects #animation #ae #design #newyorkcity #motiondesign

It’s surreal to say I’m listed on the walls of the MoMA in NYC from now until Spring 2020 as a part of the “Taking a Thread for a Walk” exhibit. A few months ago, I was invited by @momadesignstudio to bring this Anni Albers drawing to life. The piece is quite simple, as is the animation, but it is a delight to see how many people sat and watched from start to finish and even interacted with the line. I was familiar with Jospeh Albers prior, but less so with Anni. Her work, particularly her geometric textiles were so ahead of their time. She was also the first female textile artist to have a solo show at MoMA in 1949. I'm so honored and glad to “collaborate” with this Bauhaus hero through time and space. Thank you so much to curators Juliet Kinchin and Andrew Gardner, as well as Olya Domoradova, Derek Flynn, Elle Kim, Rob Giampietro for the direction, physical credit and invitation in the first place.
