The scent of you still fills the room, as before,
Soft fur upon the floor,as if you’re near.
The clinking chain resounds, calling once more,
Warm eyes like gentle light, that never disappear.
When rain begins to fall,I see you still,
Your shadow leans beside me, resting near.
Each quiet holiday feels as if you will,
Return through every photo,
my heart keeps you here.

Wanapol Saenkham toys with the language of painting, in which he deliberately breaks the boundary of traditional language by interestingly inventing a new witty language. Each painting is a record of the present time, composed with a language that can pierce, satire and belittle at the same time. Wanapol melts and fuses the language and creates a new conversation around the painting that records the stream of burning time of Thai politics. Each word is shaken by imagination until its meaning becomes blurry and enables the audience to interpret and connect it with social events and occurrences freely. - Kritsada Duchsadeevanich (Curator)
In Allegory of the Cave (Part II) features the works of Thanawat Numcharoen, Pichaya Khunnawat, and Wanapol Saenkham that split out and expand like erupted lava, revealing the changing aesthetics from one era to another. This exhibition is like the episode extension of the contemporary dialogues that centres on the departure from the dark cave towards the new light of an era filled with the changing tide of time.
The exhibition will be on view from 16 February to 30 March 2024.
Mon - Sat 9 am to 6 pm (closed on Sundays and public holidays)

“Until we meet again,
I carry you in silence—
missed beyond words.
Yet the words I meant to write
are buried,
fading away
before they become you."
