On October 1st 2021, after producing a record in Berlin, I was invited to listen to the amazing Kii speakers at Louis McGuire’s studio. That afternoon, Louis made me listen to a project he was just finishing to mix. I was floored. Tears poured out like the seven seas and, for the rest of the day, it shifted my consciousness in a way that I still struggle to explain other than by “receiving a huge dose of pure love”. It was a life altering day and I believe music was the trigger. Upon my return to Montreal I immediately offered to master it. I was compelled to it and four years later, almost to the dot, still believe it’s the most significant work of art I’ve ever had the chance to lend a hand to.
Thank you Louis for being so kind as to make me listen to this and being so welcoming; I remember what we told each other before leaving, I still believe all of it. Thank you Trevor for trusting me with this very personal project. I am ever so grateful for the joy this piece of music still brings me every time I listen to it and for the incommensurable level of serenity I felt on that peaceful fall day. I am extremely humbled to have been a part, as small as it may be, of this incredible project and am extremely excited to finally be able to share it.
