Ten days before the ceasefire was announced, our community gathered to resist the genocide in Gaza and stand in solidarity with Palestine.
In Palestine, football has never been just a sport, it’s a way to resist, to stay connected, and to preserve identity in the face of occupation and exile. Despite every barrier, the game endures as a symbol of resilience and hope.
Here, we played in that same spirit, in struggle and solidarity. On the pitch, joy, play, connection, and community were medicine. Every pass, the ball carried more than movement, it carried our shared humanity.
Calling all Futbol loving supporters: Barrio FA and @peoples.fc will be hosting an open tournament to fundraise for field cost! For roughly $9 per player you can play 3-5 games, potentially walk out with a trophy and enjoy some free coffee and pan dulce. Link in bio to register - see you there!
