I love backcountry adventures and had a big one with Capt Bill staying at the legendary Ostrander Hut in Yosemite. It's a challenging 10m tour to the hut and we stayed 3 nights out there riding and touring around. The storms hadn't come yet so there was a lot of dodging trees and rocks but we found some sweet honey holes. Seeing the valley and the little chapel where K and I got married got me all teary eyed. I always called Yosemite my church and it was fun to bomb down the steeple.
It's been a full year since Matt first hiked Tennessee Valley. I think we did a 1/2m that day and we set our goal to making it to the beach and back. Today he did it! Proud of my brother Matt, proud of Mere who has given everything to healing her boy, and proud to have shared this moment with our friend Butler - who brought us all together many years ago. Now we gotta set a new goal.
