Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia #IDAHOBIT2026
The global focus for 2026 is “At the heart of democracy” – a reminder that truly democratic societies must be grounded in justice and freedom for all.
👉65 UN member States still criminalize consensual same-sex sexual acts.
👉🏽At least 62 restrict freedom of expression on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics issues.
👉🏼Legal gender recognition based on self-determination is only available in 18 countries at the national level.
👉🏾Only 9 UN member States restrict unnecessary medical interventions on intersex minors at the national level.
And yet, time and again, LGBTQIA+ people have resisted these pressures, together with everyone who cares about their communities, and sowed the seeds of change.
We must continue to fight the oppressive systems that tell us we don't deserve human rights. Change is possible if we continue to fight for it! Stay strong. RESIST!

Our sessions are curated by those in attendance from month to month along with the help of Bookkeeper - Margot Williams.
📚 This month our Common Cents Club Crew chose to focus on how to grow FREE MONEY! We’re going to chat all things investing 📈 - where to start, the risks involved, resources and more! No amount is too small to invest and it’s never too soon or too late to get started!
Join Provincial Credit Union reps & our Common Cents team as we have a discussion to de-stigmatize & de-mystify this thing called “Investing”. There will be plenty of time for your specific questions, however, there will be no pressure to participate!
🔍 Our longterm objectives:
1️⃣ Boost financial literacy: Let’s build a common financial language and uncover the messages we’ve internalized about money.
2️⃣ Break barriers and get intimate with finances: Explore different types of debt, understand account fees, and dive into your monthly fixed costs.
3️⃣ Set tangible short and long-term goals: From creating a spending plan and emergency fund to dreaming big about investments and long-term aspirations.
🤝 Our principles:
Participant-driven agenda
No pressure to speak; listening is valued
Judgment-free, anonymous space for sensitive discussions
📆 Logistics:
