Throwback to last year… Giving @bloo_azul & @spanish_ran their flowers. I always wanted to flip the @takashipom flower somehow and Bloo’s line on “Mayday” gave me the creative green light. These guys are making some of my favorite music right now and the Bronx-based collective that they have with Ran at the helm is one of the best things going on in hip hop. Salute!

I’m a sucker for Long Island hip hop. There’s that outsider mentality threaded through it that shows an aura of eccentricity but still being fully tapped into the culture. When Marcberg dropped in 2010, it marked the return of a lot of things that the culture had been missing. However, Reloded is what set the template of what this subculture has become. Artists in this lane utilize the themes that @rocmarci displayed back in 2010- street life, drugs, women, hustling, pimping, etc.
However, when I hear Roc rhyme the most prevalent influence I notice comes from De La and Ultramagnetic.
