When we lift each other up, amazing things happen.
Remember the
@hotsalad_bicycles custom frame giveaway at Portland Trophy Cup last year? That frame is now a singlespeed masterpiece, powered by
@morganfiler.racing , who rips it like a rocket ship every Tuesday night. Here’s how it all came together:
B from Hot Salad and
@christyhawk from Trophy Cup have long teamed up to elevate women in the cycling world. When B offered to donate a custom frame, we knew the winner wouldn't be chosen by speed alone. We wanted to reflect our core value: women supporting women.
Racers poured their hearts into nomination cards, and lucky winner Morgan was chosen at random, nominated by her
@teambooger teammate Stella.
The cycling world has historically seen few women in leadership or on the start line, but that’s changing. We’re proud of the progress we’re making together:
🏁 USAC: 9% women
🏁 OBRA: 19% (a huge leap!)
🏁 Trophy Cup: 25% (!!)
Our goal? 50%.
We dream of start lines so full of women we have to reshuffle race times just to fit everyone in.
How we get there:
Keep showing up. Bring your friends. Support the partners who make our women’s programs possible, like Berkshire Ginsberg (Beginner Women race free) and
@bikepocpnw (inclusive, welcoming Beginner Clinics).
At Portland Trophy Cup, we’re proud to celebrate phenomenal women: business owners, photographers, designers, team leaders, teammates, coaches and bike builders.
🖤 We send massive thanks to all the supportive people in the community who wholeheartedly champion this cause!
⚡️ To every racer: thank you for creating an inclusive, positive and electric atmosphere this season.
🏆 Let’s make this final race the best one yet!
p.s. The nomination cards will be out at Registration. If you find your name, take it home and put it somewhere special. Let it remind you that you are valued, seen and appreciated by this amazing community. 💜
