Dancer: Danna Peng

Danna Peng is a choreographer, performer, and dance researcher whose work investigates the emotional, psychological, and spatial dimensions of the moving body. She holds a BA in Dance from Yangtze Normal University and an MA in Choreography from the University of Roehampton, and she is currently a PhD candidate at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
Her practice is rooted in improvisation, interdisciplinary experimentation, and a deep interest in the body’s response to instability and resistance. She explores the tension between control and collapse, crafting physical states that evoke vulnerability, conflict, and the ongoing search for balance.
Working across live performance and dance film, she often weaves sound, space, and gesture to build layered environments where meaning emerges through sensation and presence. Her work offers a detailed, emotionally attuned perspective—inviting audiences to experience dance not just as movement, but as an embodied, felt narrative.
