I won’t 😭 I will show you a glimpse of the impact of my life on the R.I.S.E. ⸻ 14 years ago, I was searching for a place to belong. I found it sitting in the crowd. Listening. Witnessing. Finding ways to serve the community. ⸻ 3 lessons I learned: 1. Stop searching. Start serving. That’s when everything shifted. 2. Your story matters. The testimonies I witnessed birthed thoughts and I found my voice. 3. Community changes everything. What started in the crowd became connection and collaboration. ✊🏾✊🏿✊🏾 From audience member to director of projects & strategy. I dreamed it. Then real life’d it through serving the R.I.S.E community over the last 14 years 🥹🌱🥳 ⸻ I didn’t just find a stage. I was called to help hold it. To keep it going through funding cuts, pandemics, and global conflicts. 785+ events 3000+ paid opportunities $1.98M invested into artists 30,000 souls reached ⸻ From the seed to the sanctuary. Heyo neighbors 👋🏾 Field Trip started from a real place. A lot of us are dealing with social isolation… not because we don’t want to connect, but because it’s not always easy to show up and be yourself. So we made this a thing. Our first Field Trip took place at @brightside.world in the beautiful Allan Gardens Conservatory. Headsets on, immersed in sound, exploring together while still being in our own world. A group of us pulled up… and nobody rushed out. We stayed, connected, and even went for dinner after. Real conversations, real people. Big love to @djmetime and @dildhalla for helping us hold the space, be comfortable and explorative! The city needs more of this. Real connection. Real community.
