“’I am in the world no more, but while I am coming to you, they are still in the world. Abba, holy God, protect those whom you have given me with your name—the name that you gave me—that they may be one, even as we are one.’” John 17:11

The Rev. Dr. Mihee Kim-Kort, a PC(USA) pastor who wrote “Seeing and Being Jesus in the World: How to Live God’s Radical Welcome as a Family,” published last month by Westminster John Knox Press, was a recent guest on “A Matter of Faith: A Presby Podcast.” Hosts Simon Doong and the Rev. Lee Catoe posed this question: Amidst the busyness, how can parents find the time to engage their children about justice issues in ways that are age appropriate but also empowering? Listen to their full conversation at the link in our bio @pcusa or wherever you get your podcasts.

Palestinian Nakba Remembrance Day remembers the day that thousands of Palestinians experienced dispossession and became refugees on May 15, 1948. Seventy-eight years later, Palestinian people live under a consistent and systematic process of apartheid and face expulsion from their land. In response to the cries of our Palestinian Christian siblings, we have been calling for peace with justice since 1948. Visit our landing page for resources and more information on our wider work on Palestine and Israel (link in bio).

Forty days after the Resurrection of the Lord, we remember and celebrate the Ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ into heaven. On this day, the church gives thanks for Christ’s sovereign rule over all the earth, as well as his priestly intercession for us at the throne of mercy.

In light of the Supreme Court's recent decision to dismantle the 1965 Voting Rights Act, we are reminded of the General Assembly's decisive stance on voting rights, first approved by the 218th General Assembly in 2008 and reaffirmed by the 225th General Assembly in 2022.
The resolution, "Lift Every Voice: Democracy, Voting Rights and Electoral Reform," states the PC(USA)'s clear opposition to attempts at voter suppression, expressions of white supremacist and white Christian nationalist ideologies, and efforts at the state level to subvert legal elections. It recognizes the role of gerrymandering and the corrupting power of money in electoral and governing processes and calls for election finance reform. It denounces the intimidation of election officials and workers and calls on law enforcement agencies and lawmakers to enforce and strengthen laws to protect them. This page is from a 1949 Presbytery of Cuba scrapbook created with the intention of commemorating the first 50 years of mission work in the country. This collection of historic images offers readers and researchers a glimpse into the development and growth of Presbyterianism in Cuba, which, from the beginning, was marked by an unwavering commitment to social services, the strong participation of indigenous clergy members and their wives, and a unique ecumenical orientation. Inside, group shots of students, teachers, pastors and their families, and missionaries abound—within, we find this spread, which shares memories from a Mother’s Day celebration held during the mid-20th-century.
