We are sure she will be acknowledging the contribution of the many many people outside of the senior leadership team who have made the amazing achievements of the last few years possible at her earliest opportunity.

The V&A cares for a vast collection, the majority of which are not contested, but for those objects that are, the people best-placed to make decisions about their future are the experts that look after them, not a government using them for political point scoring in the culture wars and certainly not Lara fucking Brown.

After a significant campaign by PCS, including an Early Day Motion, and the petition which reached over 10,000 signatures, the V&A has today confirmed that the 20 staff at the National Art Library (NAL), in the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), are no longer at risk of imminent redundancy.
Instead, most of the NAL staff will now be furloughed for six months while the museum undertakes a review of the service, with some staff continuing to work through the period providing a skeleton service. This means our members will remain employed for an additional half a year at least, not only guaranteeing their income over that period but also giving greater opportunities for redeployment and retraining over that time. In addition, the library – a vital public resource – will now be closed for half of the time initially planned at the start of the restructuring programme.
