I've been hard at work with this illustration over the last couple of weeks. Very happy with how it's progressing. Once the colour starts to build up, it really starts to make sense. Hope you like seeing the process behind this piece. More to come very soon..... #voltaireandrousseaubookshop #illustrationprocess #Irishartists #contemporaryillustration #catsinbookshops

It was great to explore each of the neighbourhoods in Barcelona during a recent visit. Each has its own character and hidden treasures. Wandering down from Gracia, through Eixample to The Gothic Quarter and Raval is such a joy during spring time, when the sky is blue and the temperature just right. #barcelona #cityscapes #travelphotography

There really is no place quite like Venice! I hadn't been there in over 10 years until recently, and if anything, it was even more beautiful than I remembered it. So lucky to see it in such wonderful weather as well. #venice #Italy #travelinspi̇ration

Cityscapes is an ongoing personal project featuring experimental photography and illustration. Originally focusing on Glasgow’s built environment, this series has grown to include urban studies from cities around the world. Camera techniques like double exposures and deliberate camera shake, are combined with drawing, layering, and collage to create visual experiments that are a hybrid of photography and drawing. The aim is to capture the mood and atmosphere of place. The next exciting stage of this project is to incorporate printing techniques and mark-making to blur the boundaries between the mediums, increase visual impact, and most importantly, have fun! #cityscapes #atmosphericcities #nightmoods #experimentalartworks #experimentalphotography

Hey there, My Lisbon Tram #28 print is back for sale in the Ground Floor Gallery @glasgowprintstudio and can also be purchased online at Two prints from the edition have sold recently and it's very pleasing to know that something that is very personal to me, connects with other people. The origin of this piece was an idea to capture each journey abroad in one defining image. Trams are synomous with Lisbon, and are beautiful objects in themselves, but this particular line, the #28, takes you on a wonderful journey, up and down cobbled streets, past stunning scenery and colourful buildings. When I look at this print it immediately transports me back to that experience. Lisbon Tram, #28 (2025) Digital print 29.7cm x 29.7cm Edition of 30 #lisbon #travelillustration

'The Arts Organisations at Trongate103 in Glasgow's city centre are facing closure due to their leases being terminated by City Property, following a massive and unsustainable rent increase. Trongate103 is one of the last visual arts venues remaining in the city, especially after the recent closure of the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA). Losing it would be a devastating blow to Glasgow's vibrant cultural scene. Glasgow has long been celebrated for its rich cultural and artistic heritage. The city is home to dozens of creatives, artists, and communities. Trongate103 has been at the heart of this, offering a space for art, creativity, and expression that has enlivened the city centre and contributed enormously to the local economy. With its closure, we risk obliterating Glasgow's creative cultural legacy.' That sums it up perfectly! Culture matters and is worth fighting for. Please sign the petition and pass it on. There's a protest tomorrow as well if you can make it. /XR4bQRXDJn

Placa Catalunya, Barcelona, view facing west during sunset. Part of my ongoing Cityscapes series. Usually, with experimental images like this, there's a lot of trial and error, but this worked perfectly first time. I'd just got out of the Metro station and still had my suitcase with me, but the conditions were so perfect, I couldn't resist! I guess it was meant to be. #cityscapes #pcillustrator #barcelona #experimentalphotography
