Last weekend, our venue became the setting for a remarkable moment at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons’ 94th Annual Scientific Congress, as delegates witnessed a live, remote‑controlled robotic surgery demonstration. From a plenary session at PCEC, surgical expertise in Perth was shared across continents, contributing in real time to the care of a patient in India. Bringing together surgeons, trainees and healthcare leaders from Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond, PCEC provided the specialised infrastructure, advanced technical capability and trusted operational expertise required to support a demonstration of this scale and significance; safely, securely and seamlessly.
